DINA JORDAN
Dina Jordan is a figurative abstract oil painter based in Manhattan’s east village. Her work explores the human form using portraiture and surrealistic scenes drawn from life, memory, and imagination. Distinct gradients and saturated color palettes blend abstraction with representation, exposing the hidden, yet ever-present, neutral flow of human consciousness felt in everyday life.
Drawing from historical movements like Expressionism, Cubism and Surrealism Dina Jordan alternately layers, breaks down and rearranges figures and their surroundings using the rhythmic flow of the gradients to create a sense of surreal harmony. Her paintings challenge viewers to look beyond the everyday and experience the deeper flow of awareness weaving throughout our existence.
Dina Jordan’s art has been featured in multiple galleries in Chelsea and the East Village such as Caelum Gallery, Spike Gallery, Landmark Gallery, and most recently Dacia Gallery. She has studied at The ArtCenter College of Design, The Fashion Institute of Technology, and Art Students League of New York. Currently, Dina Jordan is working on a new body of work exploring themes of relationships and fulfillment.
